Job Description: Tooling Design Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Design and Develop Thermoforming and CNC Router Tooling

·       Utilize Solid Works to Develop Models and 2D Drawings for Tooling & Mechanical Parts

·       Utilize CAM Software to Develop CNC Tool Paths

·       Use of Thermoforming and CNC router Production Equipment

·       Technical Training for Thermoforming and CNC Router Teams

·       Technical Support for Quality Manager and ISO Processes

·       Initiate/Support Engineering Change Order Process

·       Initiate Planning for Prototype and Pilot Runs

·       Drive Process Improvement

·      Solid understanding of tool fabrication processes, industry-standard tools, and assemblies

·      Demonstrate Excellent Project Management Skills Thru:

·  Detailed Planning

·  Time Management

·  Progress Tracking

·  Communication Skills

·  Use of ERP System

·      Ability to resolve processing issues and/or improve the efficiency of cycle time

Skills and Qualifications:

·      Ability to use standard 3D part and tool modeling software, ie. SolidWorks

·      Ability to use CAM software, ie. SurfCam, WorkNC

·       Adaptability and reliability

·       Knowledge of the mechanics of thermoforming and CNC router operations

Experience and Education

·      Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology (MIT) and minimum of five (5) years of experience with tooling, including part design, tool design and fabrication, and/or processing experience

OR

·      Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology (MIT) and minimum of seven (7) years of experience with tooling, including part design, tool design and fabrication, and/or processing experience

·      Salary Range: $70k-$85k based on experience and education level completed
